Singapore-based EV charging operator Charge+ has announced its recent acquisition of 140 public or shared EV charges from three other local companies: eChargz Pte Ltd, Quickcharge.sg Pte Ltd, and PaC Components Pte Ltd.
This will boost the number of charging points by Charge+ to about 2,500, thus promising to cement the brand's position as the largest EV charging operator in Singapore. Said charging points are now present in 42 properties including condominiums and commercial buildings.
With the commencement of the EV Charging Act of Singapore in 2023, and to ensure EV charging network reliability, with effect from 8 December 2024, EV charging operators who provide charging services to the public require a license to operate. Licensees also must maintain service uptime of chargers in their networks, acquire public liability insurance, and provide charging-related data to the LTA.
