ComfortDelGro ENGIE (CDG ENGIE) has announced that it will be marking its third anniversary with the launch of its 1,000th charge point in Singapore, as well as the launch of a new app.
The company states that it will be launching a new mobile app soon, which allows users to plan long road trips by calculating necessary charging stops based on the vehicle used. App users will also have full access to charging stations across Malaysia and in-app notifications on charger availability.
CDG ENGIE has made huge strides in the expansion of its EV charging network across Southeast Asia. Since its birth three years ago, it has won Singapore's pilot EV charging infrastructure tender in 2021 and established the largest cross-border roaming network in the region through partnerships with ChargeEV and Gentari, allowing its network to encompass over 2,700 operational charge points in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.
CDG ENGIE is also trialling instant charging based on the car's ID linked with the user's CDG ENGINE account without the need for RFID cards or the mobile app. The brand targets to reach 8,000 charging points by 2030.
