HMGICS marks first anniversary with Hyundai Chairman

The Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre Singapore (HMGICS) has held a town hall on 12 December 2024 to mark its first anniversary. This town hall was led by Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chairman Euisun Chung and attended by key Hyundai leaders including Hyundai President and CEO Jaehoon Chang, Hyundai Executive Vice President and Head of Manufacturing Juncheul Jung, HMGICS CEO Hyun Sung Park, and HMGICS Chief Innovation Officer Alpesh Patel, who all joined in with conversations with employees of the centre during the event.
Emphasising its mission of developing modern and sustainable mobility solutions, Executive Chairman Chung stated that HMGICS will be exploring new business ideas and technologies in a bid to revolutionise future mobility.
Over the past year, HMGICS, Hyundai's first global innovation hub for future mobility innovation, has achieved key milestones and success in multiple areas. The innovative manufacturing technologies developed at HMGICS will be gradually applied to Hyundai factories globally. These innovations have contributed to the 2023 production of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 - the first locally built EV in Singapore - and the 2024 debut of the Hyundai Ioniq 6.
HMGICS has also engaged with the local community via collaborations with research institutions and universities, offering internships and practical learning opportunities in advanced manufacturing and innovative technologies.
