Toyota Singapore kicks off inclusivity-themed fashion show

Celebrating inclusivity and the power of adaptive design. This was on Toyota Singapore's mind as it held a fashion show at the Toyota Boutique at Leng Kee on 12 December 2024, where the brand announced the commencement of the Start Your Impossible Hero Project 2024 initiative, first launched in 2018.
The project was also Singaporean Paralympic swimmer and Global Team Toyota Athlete (GTTA) Toh Wei Soong's debut in a Creative Director role, where the collection, created in collaboration with Werable founder Claudia Poh, was showcased to guests and dignitaries via models strutting their stuff on the catwalk.
At the event, 16 different outfits from the collection were on show, with models including multiple disabled groups in line with the event's theme - fashion inclusivity - and to a larger extent: Breaking barriers and inspiring individuals to believe that the impossible is within reach.
An interesting fact to note is that every fashion piece from the collection sports hidden design features such as magnetic clasps in place of buttons, pull rings instead of metal tabs, and dresses that can be worn with one hand.
Following this, the collection will be put up for auction, with proceeds going to the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD), a cause that resonates deeply with Toh. A Toyota RAV4 cloaked in a design inspired by Toh's sketches was also unveiled at the event and put up for sale, with $5,000 from the proceeds also going to the SPD.
Through this collaboration, Toh and Toyota Singapore have demonstrated their dedication to ushering in inclusivity and making a positive impact for individuals from all walks of life.
