Caterham has announced that it will be building a new limited edition Seven.
Called the Seven CSR Twenty, the special model celebrates the 20th year the firm has been utilising the chassis and will see only 20 examples built. These will also be the first models that will come from the firm's new facility in Dartford in the U.K.
Those lucky 20 customers will get their Sevens complete with inboard front and fully independent rear suspension, said to give the special cars Caterham's most compliant chassis yet. Benefits of this new suspension setup also include more direct and composed steering, as well as increased rear end grip and composure.
Challenging this newfound grip is Ford's 2.0-litre Duratec engine, which offers a total of 201bhp and allowing the Seven to reach 96km/h from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Stopping power, meanwhile, is delivered via ventilated front discs gripped by quad-piston callipers.
The Caterham Seven CSR Twenty also comes with leather seats complete with Alcantara inserts, red stitching and CSR Twenty logos, while other cabin features include a satin carbon dashboard, special CSR Twenty edition dials, an Alcantara gearstick as well as a leather Momo steering wheel.
Customers will also get a Seven 620-style nose cone and front wings, LED front and rear lights, a two-tone Union Flag grille. The Caterham Seven CSR Twenty comes in either Kinetic Grey or Dynamic Silver.
