Porsche has unveiled its newest Formula E Car for the next two seasons, the GEN3 Evo version of the 99X Electric.
It officially made its global premiere yesterday (24 October 2024) at 19:00 Singapore time, in a livestream on Porsche's social media channels.
The 99X Electric was presented in the Purple Sky Metallic and Shade Green Metallic colours, which was coincidentally the same used in the Taycan Turbo GT's presentation, is and supposed to represent electrification and visually express Porsche's forward-thinking in the progressive Formula E.
The all-electric open-wheel car sports key technical innovations such as additional front-wheel drive, higher grip tyres, and a modified front wing, matching the standardised hardware of all teams and manufacturers taking part.
Front-wheel drive may now be used during qualifying duels, race starts, and Attack Mode, giving the cars temporary all-wheel drive and enabling the car to go 0-100km/h in around two seconds.
The 99X Electric comes with a 38.5kWh lithium-ion battery and a power output of 300kW (402bhp), which goes up to 350kW (469bhp) during Attack Mode and qualifying duels.
