McLaren has worked with acclaimed Artist Yinka Ilori MBE and fundraising initiative Art of Wishes to unveil a new one-off masterpiece of the McLaren Artura supercar in support of the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Embodying a mixture of art and technology in a high-performance supercar, the hand-painted masterpiece was created during a two-day live art installation (14 to 15 October 2024) in the courtyard of luxury hotel The Peninsula London.
The car will be on display at the hotel for two weeks until 30 October 2024, where it will embark on a three-month trip across the U.K. for showcasing at various McLaren showrooms, after which the car's bonnet will be auctioned off.
The proceeds will be used to grant wishes to children under the Make-A-Wish foundation with critical illnesses.
Ilori's inspiration for the paintwork was obtained from a series of floral-inspired prints meant to represent the association of life and the afterlife. The flower is meant to symbolise impermanence and rebirth, and he hopes those who view the masterpiece are reminded of the here and now.
