As McLaren Racing and Jack Daniel's continue to celebrate their first year of partnership in Formula One - the former, its 60th anniversary in 2023 - the two companies have jointly launched a highly exclusive McLaren Racing Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey Bottle.
The limited-edition bottle was officially unveiled right here in Singapore at a private event in Conrad Centennial on 15 September 2023, mere hours ahead of the first free practice session for the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix. The event was also graced by McLaren Racing driver, Oscar Piastri, who recently starred in a Jack Daniel's ad where he was seen mixing his own papaya-flavoured concoction he later called 'Piastri's Papaya Punch'.
Said to "leverage on the distinctive assets of both brands", the limited-edition bottle features the broad shoulders and square shape associated with the Jack Daniel's name but puts a spin on its signature black-and-white colour scheme.
Instead, the label also incorporates racing stripes, and of course, McLaren's iconic 'papaya' orange colour - for a look that is at once recognisable, yet also more characterful and vibrant. You'll also notice McLaren's 'speedmark' logo plastered onto the bottle's neck.
McLaren Racing and Jack Daniel's have called the special packaging "an ode to [their] pioneering founders" - Bruce McLaren and Jack Daniel respectively - while also celebrating the "spirit of independence, authenticity and boldness" of their brands. Whenever the occasion calls for pouring out a drink, you'll find Jack Daniel's classic Tennesee Whiskey grain bill of 80% corn, 8% rye, and 12% malted barley, bottled at 80 proof (40% abv) in the 700ml bottles made available to Singapore.
To return to the note of exclusivity, the two brands are not joking around when they say the bottle will be limited.
The McLaren Racing Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey Bottle will only be made available this year, and won’t even be available in every territory, with Singapore holding the privilege as one of the exclusive race cities to see the bottle launched. We're told only 500 cases have been earmarked for our local market, making this a highly collectible edition for McLaren Racing and Jack Daniel's fans alike.
2023 doesn't just mark the first year of Jack Daniel's partnership with McLaren Racing, but also its presence in Formula One. Speaking to guests at the event, Sally Goh, General Manager Emerging Asia at Brown-Forman, noted that the brand's entrance into the racing scene was "a great opportunity for the brand to connect and stay relevant to the young consumers", and promised that more exciting events from the two partners are on their way.
Louise McEwen, Executive Director of Brand and Marketing at McLaren Racing, also called the bottle "an exciting collaboration with a partner which shares our ambition to put fans at the centre of what we do", before adding that its launch was yet another "fantastic way" to mark the brand's 60th year anniversary.
