Key to Singapore's commitment to reduce land transport emissions is the Singapore Green Plan 2030, and in support of this, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and K-Tech Auto Solution, an Approved Training Centre for International Motor Industry (IMI) International Qualification, have signed the Training Collaboration Agreement (TCA) at a ceremony on 9 December 2024.
This partnership offers two comprehensive courses: Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Technology and Maintenance (HEVTM), and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Features and Calibration, which aims to upskill car workshop technicians amidst the shift from Internal Combustion Engine vehicles to hybrid and electric vehicle maintenance.
The first run of the HEVTM course took place on 24 November 2024 with 15 participants from the motor industry, who were treated with hands-on experience in dismantling the battery bank from a hybrid vehicle, as well as conducting EV inspections with an EV Diagnostic Kit.
The ADAS course is set to commence on 22 December 2024, which will see participants gain hands-on experience calibrating an LTA registered vehicle with a full calibration set-up and generating pre-post calibration reports. Both courses are SkillsFuture-approved, with funding support for Singaporeans and PRs.
Both organisations will market these courses to individual and corporations, conducting periodic course reviews and improvement in training delivery to meet the needs of the industry. Certificates will also be issued upon completion of the course.
