Mercedes-Benz offers first look of CLA with Kimi Antonelli

In early 2025, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA will make its world premiere alongside the announcement of Kimi Antonelli as a race driver for the 2025 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team. Before that though, both will feature in a short film with the slogan "Charging up for 2025".

In the short film, Antonelli will start a journey at the snowy top of a mountain in the European Alps, driving a disguised version of the upcoming CLA in dazzling red illuminated livery to show its impressive energy recuperation performance. By the end of the drive, the CLA will have generated enough electricity to power the festive lights of a Christmas tree.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the new CLA will set standards in terms of efficiency and sustainability, with almost all brake applications performed with the aid of recuperation and not mechanically via its wheel brakes, thereby charging the kinetic energy back into the battery.

Antonelli will race alongside George Russell in 2025, with both drivers having graduated from the team's Junior programme. The short film is scheduled for release at 11:00am Singapore time on 16 December 2024 and can be found on Mercedes-Benz’s social media channels.
