The units sold by Jack Cars sport a slightly different front fascia which is unique to the Japanese domestic market, and are powered by a 1.8-litre hybrid engine. 

While promising to be slightly more road tax-friendly, the crossover still provides the perfect mixture of power, practicality and fuel efficiency one expects from the nameplate. 

The Corolla Cross Hybrid sold by Jack Cars is the unit one will find in the Japanese domestic market, and sports a slightly different grille as well as 1.8-litre hybrid engine 

For those inclined towards something with a smaller footprint, Toyota's Yaris Cross Hybrid is also nestled among the cars here. The compact crossover isn't just a compelling car for smaller families with its excellent manoeuvrability and decently roomy interior; its 1.5-litre, electric motor-assisted engine also gives it an amazing fuel consumption figure of up to 26.3km/L.

Conversely, larger families will find all the space they need in the latest Toyota Noah Hybrid.

Sliding doors provide the ease of entry and exit we love from larger MPVs, and are perfect for the often-narrow lots that plague local carparks. 

With its boxy shape and tall roofline, occupants will also be comfortable no matter where they're seated in the Noah. The second row, however, is an exceptional treat in this seven-seater variant, with its pair of captain's chairs.

The second-generation Honda Vezel continues to impress today with its sleeker styling. Like its predecessor, handles integrated into blacked out portions of its D-pillar set it apart visually from its competitors, but it also looks better than its predecessor thanks to its full-length rear light bar, slimmer headlights, and frameless grille.

If styling, however, is not foremost on your priority list, the facelifted Honda Shuttle's practicality is nearly unbeatable in the compact class segment. Its wagon body offers 570 litres of boot space even with all the seats up.
