WMC and Zero reveal new electric motorcycle prototype
16 Nov 2024|57 views
White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) and Zero Motorcycles have collaborated to develop a prototype of the world's first electric sports bike.
The result is a re-engineered Zero SR/S concept incorporating a bespoke WMC-patented aerodynamic duct paired with an aerodynamic front fender and fork shroud package for maximum airflow.
Both companies first met at the Italian Motorcycle Show (EICMA) in November 2023, and with a shared vision and an idea in mind, begun working to deliver this proof of concept.
Using knowledge and experience garnered from working in Formula One and worlds sports car programmes, WMC's in-house engineering teams used a combination of digital and physical technology to rapidly develop the prototype for real world testing.
Thus, the new WMCSRS concept was born, delivering a 10% increase in aerodynamic efficiency offering increased range at highway speeds. This in part reduces the need for a larger battery, cutting down on weight and charge time.
The new concept will make its public debut at Motorcycle Live, which runs from 16 November 2024 to 24 November 2024.
