Motor-East and BYD electrify IMM

There are many reasons for BYD's popularity in Singapore, but in a nutshell, the brand has the cars drivers want, and the models themselves are competitively priced.
There's another factor at play, too: BYD models are widely available due to the network of dealers that sell them, and the fact that the dealers frequently hold roadshows that make the cars more accessible to buyers.
So, if you're looking for a BYD and are living or working in the western part of Singapore, then you can check out the BYD models in person at the Motor-East x Sgcarmart Premium Brand Showcase at IMM, which runs from 21 to 27 October 2024.
At this roadshow, you can already get up close to the all-new BYD M6, which is only scheduled to be unveiled tomorrow evening (22 October 2024). Aimed at families, BYD says the M6 is the first Cat A electric seven-seater MPV.
Space aside, the M6 offers flexibility, too. With all seats in place, you still have 180 litres of boot volume for items. But fold down the rearmost seats and this grows to a useful 580 litres. Fold down the second-row backrests and you have a viable load-hauler, which comes in handy for moving house.
With 134bhp and 250Nm of torque from its electric motor, the M6 should have no issue ferrying folks around. Fed by a 71.8kWh Blade Battery, the M6 can travel up to 440km (WLTP) before needing to be recharged.
Displayed alongside the M6 are the Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal. The compact Dolphin, a hatchback, is BYD's entry-level model and ideal for those looking for a runabout that's easy to handle in built-up spaces.
The Atto 3, arguably BYD's most popular model here, is also being shown. This five-seater SUV has found favour with many drivers thanks to its attractive price tag, availability as a Cat A model, and like other BYD models, a long list of standard safety features.
Keener drivers, on the other hand, might be drawn by the Seal. It's available in three variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Performance. The Dynamic is the Cat A model, the Premium is the mid-range version, while the Performance is the quickest and most powerful.
To entice buyers, Motor-East is dangling goodies that include discounts of up to $50,000, one-year free insurance, $1 downpayment, and up to 20% Charging Discount. In addition, all BYD models are covered by an eight-year battery warranty, six-year vehicle warranty, and six years of free servicing.
