Kia has announced that the EV9 GT SUV will debut in Europe as an all-wheel drive, high-performance EV based on the E-GMP 800V platform.
The three-row electric SUV is the most powerful Kia ever produced, offering 508bhp and a WLTP range of more than 450km on a single charge. This added power is supported by Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS), and the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.6 seconds.
On the SUV's exterior, its GT-dedicated digital lighting grille displays "Energetic" lighting patterns, while its 21-inch alloy wheels sport a distinctive design, with large front brake callipers in neon green with exclusive GT lettering within. Inside, neon-accents adorn the GT-exclusive steering wheel and sports seats, with the latter trimmed with Alcantara suede inserts and embossed with the GT logo.
Different drive modes can be activated via the steering wheel, with Normal, Eco, Sport, My Drive, and Terrain modes on offer. In addition, Snow mode provides additional safety on slippery roads and distributes torque to all four wheels for increased traction.
With its 800V fast charging architecture paired with a 99.8kWh battery, the EV9 GT can charge from 10% to 80% in 24 minutes with DC fast charging. The SUV is also supported by Kia Charge, allowing access to more than 800,000 charging points in 28 European countries.
The Kia Connect app offers a range of connected features such as remote battery conditioning and remote climate control, with OTA updates available for every system in the car with a primary focus on maintenance updates.
The EV9 GT is an extension of Kia's strategy to have 11 electric vehicles on the market by 2026, to expand to 15 models by 2027, and to have its European lineup fully electric by 2035.
