You could soon secure your own blueprint-accurate and period-sympathetic Ford RS2000.
Boreham Motorworks, the high-performance motorsport and racing division of the DRVN Automotive Group, has announced that it has secured a brand license agreement from the Ford Motor Company to produce and remaster some of the latter's most historically significant road, race and rally icons.
Boreham Motorworks states that it will be making blueprint-accurate examples of the MK1 after building the remastered RS2000s
The first of these vehicles is set to be the Ford RS2000. First launched by Ford in 1984, the original car was engineered to compete in the World Rally Championship and boasted a mid-engine layout alongside an advanced four-wheel-drive system and a lightweight composite body.
And there's more great news in store: Boreham Motorworks states that it has been entrusted to continue some of Ford Motor Company's most historically significant road, race, and rally icons, and the firm is already set to build at least five further iconic Ford vehicles, the first of these being the Ford MK1 Escort, already set to make its debut later in 2024.
Introduced in the late 1960s the MK1 became synonymous with motorsport success with its lightweight design and advanced suspension setup that provided exceptional handling and agility on both road and rally stages.
And here's the bad news: Boreham Motorworks states that these remastered cars will be available only in very limited numbers, so expect sky-high prices for any example of these remastered cars. Still, at least the firm's customers will gain an access to The Boreham High Performance Club, which brings its members on spectacular driving experiences around the world.
