Ferrari and SK On sign commit to a sustained partnership

Ferrari and global electric vehicle battery manufacturer SK On have marked the continuation of their partnership with the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
On 26 March 2024, Ferrari Chief Executive Officer Benedetto Vigna and Ferrari Chief Research and Development Officer Ernesto Lasalandra met Chief Executive Officer of SK On, Lee Seok-hee. During the meeting, parties from Ferrari and SK On signed a memorandum of understanding.
The partnership between these two companies is not new, but the signing of the memorandum of understanding signifies the renewal of the already on-going technological collaboration and acts as an opportunity for the companies to share valuable insights. The exchange is mutually beneficial as it provides both companies with the opportunity to envision new possibilities and potential solutions, all of which drives continuous improvement.
Over the years, SK On has been supplying battery cells for Ferrari, with the first being utilised in the marque's first and plug-in hybrid, the SF90 Stradale and its open-top variant, the SF90 Spider. The partnership continued in 2021 with the 296 GTB followed by the 296 GTS in 2022. Most recently, the launch of the limited-edition special version of the SF90 Stradale, the SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider last year, representing the pinnacle of the company's range.
