After unveiling the Opulence Edition, designed exclusively for the Indian market, Bentley Mulliner has now announced that it will be building the Istanbul Silhouette Collection.
This time designed exclusively for the Turkish market, the new collection comprises of a Continental GT Azure V8, a Flying Spur Azure V8 (catch our review of the Flying Spur plug-in hybrid here) and a Bentayga Azure V8, all hand-built at Bentley's factory in Crewe, U.K., and all celebrating the rich cultural heritage, world-famous landmarks, and beautiful art of Istanbul.
The use of different shades of blue for the collection is inspired by hues of the Bosphorus Strait that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara, and the open skies reflected in its waters
The collection comes finished in a Black Sapphire paint, set off by sporty highlights in Dragonfly blue such as the strip to the carbon side skirts as well as the model-exclusive tread plates. These colours are said to be inspired by both the rich blue and turquoise hues of the Bosphorus Strait that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and the open skies reflected in its waters.
This colour scheme is also applied in the cabin of each car in the collection, with the use of Imperial Blue and Beluga hides inspired by the clear blue patterned tiles of the famous Sultanahmet Mosque.
Piano Imperial Blue wood and natural jewel-like Galaxy stone also feature on the front panel and infotainment area of the cars, while a special Dragonfly Blue embroidery has been applied to the headrests and cushions of the seats at the rear, outlining the city's Maiden's Tower, Galata Tower, and the famous bridges over the Bosphorus.
