Range Rover has announced that it will now take over from Jaguar as the official partner of the 2024 iteration of the Wimbledon Championship.
Jaguar Land Rover states that the Grand Slam tournament is viewed by millions globally, and this new partnership will see the event being supported by examples of the brand's Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrid.
This fleet will be used to transport players, their teams, and officials to and from official venues throughout the championship. The cars will additionally use on-site charging facilities to maximise the use of their electric-only driving range.
The championship states that its on-site charging infrastructure at the recently completed Indoor Tennis Centre is powered by renewable energy. Reducing vehicle emissions is a critical component of Wimbledon's environment positive commitment and accommodating increasing numbers of hybrid and electric vehicles forms part of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club's (where the Wimbledon games are held) 2030 net zero operational emissions target.
