Kia U.K. reaches 50,000 electric vehicle sales milestone

Kia U.K. has announced that it has surpassed the 50,000 milestone for its electric vehicle sales in July 2023, after seeing another record-braking month that saw it finishing as the U.K.'s fourth best-selling brand.
The firm sold a total of 9,624 units across all models in July, with 1,555 of these being electric vehicles. Kia U.K. states that the 50,000th electric vehicle sold in the country was a rear-wheel drive EV6, finished in Runway Red.
Contributing to the milestone, the Niro EV was the sixth best-selling electric vehicle in the month with 872 sales and 5,929 units sold this year, followed by the EV6 that has sold 4,539 year-to-date.
Kia states that it has sold 10,698 electric vehicles this year, which is more than a fifth of Kia's total electric vehicle sales since they began in 2015. The brand's electric vehicle sales grew to 16,368 in 2022, a healthy increase over 2021's 14,337 result and a clear sign of the ever-increasing popularity of Kia's multi award-winning fully electric range. Kia states that its performance this year places 2023 on-target to be its best-ever electric vehicle sales year yet. The brand's fully-electric range currently consisting of the EV9, EV6, Niro EV and Soul EV.
