BMW Motorrad presents the R20 concept

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the R20 concept, a motorcycle concept described as the epitome of expressive and cool design.
The motorcycle is said to embody all the classic attributes of BMW Motorrad, with its merger of classic design and excellent engineering combined with thrilling mechanics.
Central to the design of the motorcycle, as you would have noticed, is the use of a Big Boxer engine - a 2.0-litre unit - that sits within the vehicle like a sculpture, while its rear has been reduced to the essentials, a move said to emphasise the vehicle's clean lines and power.
This engine gets new cylinder head covers, a new belt cover and a new oil cooler, while flowing into an open exhaust system with tailpipes that end in a megaphone design, all the better to amplify the sound of the engine.
Contesting for visual attention is the 'hotter than pink' aluminium tank, which has also received a redesign. This sits ahead of a seat made from fine-grain leather featuring quilted black Alcantara which also neatly integrates the motorcycle’s taillights.
The frame of the motorcycle, meanwhile, has been completely redeveloped. A black double-loop item, this frame is made of chrome-molybdenum steel tubes and houses a 17-inch spoke wheel with black spokes at the front, alongside a 17-inch black disc wheel at the rear. You’ll also note that the R20 concept sports fully adjustable Ohlins Blackline components here.
Radially mounted brake callipers from ISR at the front and rear take care of the deceleration – with six pistons at the front and four pistons per brake calliper at the rear. The R20 concept is finished with the use of an LED head light which is presented in the form of 3D-printed aluminium.
